In our day of getting along with others, we are tempted to think that standing up for anything is tantamount to hating others or being mean-spirited.  We are taught to tolerate everyone and everything, but not to insist that anyone tolerate us.  We are told that the concept of absolute truth is absolutely wrong and that we are just supposed to relatively relate to each other.  If you struggle with the contradiction, this message could provide an important booster shot to your resolve to follow Jesus and believe His Truth above all…no matter what people think.

I often get caught up in the “don’t make waves” mentality. I often think of it as a peacemaker mentality. And while Jesus does bless them in the Beatitudes, he also was not one for “keeping the peace”. He knew when to make waves and when to bring peace…I strive to learn that balance in my own life.
