It’s Time to Declare True Independence! (Galatians 2:3-10)

On July 4th each year, Americans celebrate Independence Day.  What does this mean?  Besides fireworks (which we could not have this year due to drought conditions), food, family and a day off of work, what is it that we are really celebrating?  Is it a day to celebrate what we are independent of or of what we are dependent upon?  Does independence mean we are free from everything?  Or does it mean we simply choose what or whom we will be dependent upon?  As believers, we need to celebrate our independence from some things and dependence upon others.  What we are independent from just might shock those that have grown up in church.
